Release the Job of Rewriting Yesterday
Let regret become instruction rather than a permanent residence.
The past becomes especially heavy when the mind accepts an impossible assignment: return there, know what you know now, and make a different choice.
You cannot complete that work. You can only exhaust yourself trying.
Forgiveness begins by resigning from the task of rewriting what happened. This does not make harm acceptable or consequences unnecessary. It returns your strength to the only place where choice is still alive.
Bring the lesson forward. Make repair where repair is possible. Let regret become instruction rather than residence.
This morning is not yesterday's courtroom. It is a field of present action. Walk into it carrying wisdom, not the judge's chair.
