The Morning Oracle

Return to the Open Tab

Bring your attention back through one concrete, unfinished action.

R Richard Nkwenti 1 min read

Notice which task keeps slipping behind the next notification. Before opening another message, look at what is already in front of you. A sentence may need its final words; a decision may need one missing fact.

Choose a short interval in which that task receives your undivided effort, if your responsibilities allow it. Put distractions somewhere less convenient to reach. Leave a clear note about where to resume if you must stop.

Attention returns through these practical arrangements. Make one of them this morning and give the waiting work a fair chance.
