The Morning Oracle

Light Enters a Changed House

Beauty does not betray grief; the heart can hold more than one weather.

R Richard Nkwenti 1 min read

Grief changes the architecture of a day. Familiar rooms hold different distances. A morning can arrive beautifully and still find an absence waiting at the table.

Do not demand that light erase what was lost. Let it do a smaller, kinder work. Let it touch the cup, the window, the face you carry into another day. Beauty is not disloyal to sorrow. A laugh does not cancel love.

The heart can hold more than one weather. It can ache and still notice the sky.

Open the curtains without making a promise about how you will feel. Receiving one thread of light is enough for this morning.
