Lay Down the Inner Witness Stand

The heart deserves nights beyond the courtroom of what happened.

R Richard Nkwenti 1 min read

You have explained the scene a hundred times inside your mind. You have called the witnesses, presented the evidence, and imagined the sentence that would finally make the wound feel understood.

The night offers another possibility: no verdict, only release from proceedings until morning. Justice does not weaken because you sleep. Truth does not disappear when you stop rehearsing it.

Let the inner courtroom empty. Turn off its hard lights. The heart was never meant to spend every night proving that it was hurt.

Rest is not acquittal. It is mercy for the one who survived and is still here, deserving a life beyond the case.
