Keep a Small Lamp

Let sorrow have a chair, not the whole house, and keep one inner lamp.

R Richard Nkwenti 1 min read

If sorrow visits tonight, offer it a chair rather than the whole house. It may sit near you. It may speak. It does not need to extinguish every lamp.

Name one thing that remained: a kindness received, a meal completed, a memory that warmed before it hurt. This is not an argument against grief. It is evidence that life continues to contain detail.

Rest with both truths. Something mattered enough to leave an ache. Something still matters enough to keep you here.

Leave a small lamp burning in the inner room. Dawn does not need a grand invitation; it only needs somewhere to find you.
