Putting down what was never yours to carry.

R Richard Nkwenti 1 min read

There are weights you have been carrying that were never assigned to you — old verdicts, other people's disappointments, stories you were handed before you could question them.

You are allowed to put them down. Not because they were unimportant, but because they were never yours to carry indefinitely. Setting something down is not the same as pretending it never happened. It is deciding that it no longer gets to decide your posture.

Breathe out. Open your hands. The weight can stay here, and you can go on lighter.
