We imagine failure as a verdict, but it is usually just information with an emotional tax attached. The information is useful; the tax is optional.

What most people actually fear is not the failed attempt but the audience for it — the imagined judgement of others who, in truth, are mostly preoccupied with their own attempts.

The cost of a failed attempt is almost always lower than the cost of the attempt never made.
