A Person Is Larger Than a Position
Oppose ideas firmly without reducing a whole person to one position.
Disagreement compresses people. A whole life becomes an opinion, a vote, a sentence spoken badly. Once reduced, the person is easier to dismiss.
Human dignity asks us to resist that convenience. We can oppose an idea firmly without pretending its speaker has no interior world.
What becomes possible when the person across from you is allowed to be larger than the position you reject?
