Not every open loop is a broken promise. Some work stays unfinished because it is still teaching you something you have not learned yet.

There is a difference between abandoning a thing and letting it mature. One is avoidance. The other is patience wearing work clothes.

Learn to tell them apart. Then be gentle with the second and honest about the first.
